Wash your silk scarves by hand
Whether your foulard is printed or plain, it can be washed by hand.
To do this, simply fill a basin with cold water and add a little Marseille soap (or any other gentle soap that is intended for delicate fabrics, look at the instructions on the soap). Then immerse your scarf in the slightly soapy water and let it soak for a few moments. If your scarf is a bit on the dirty side, you can move it around slowly in the water to remove any blemishes. Rinse in cold water without twisting the fabric so as not to break the fibers. Finally, all you have to do is lay your stole flat and wait for it to dry.
How to iron a silk scarf
A fundamental step in taking care of a silk scarf is ironing. Usually after washing, when silk dries it gets wrinkly and loses its shine. The trick to restoring it to its full splendor is to iron it while it’s still damp, doing this will yield perfect results. Use an iron on low heat so as not to burn the fabric. To be even more on the safe side, put a white cloth between the silk fabric and the iron so there will be no risk to your scarf!
